Ladies and gentlemen: Good morning! Today, the title of my speech is Improving Beijing's environment for the Olympics. Have you ever seen animals cry? Do you know what makes them cry? What's worse is that people are eating wild animals. Those people don't know, and more importantly, they don't want to know. This kind of behavior has caused some specific problems. For example, medical experts have suggested that eating wild animals helped spread the terrible disease SARS. Now, our world is no longer clean and beautiful. Why? Because air, water, and noise pollution has become more and more serious. Noise pollution makes us talk more loudly and become angry more easily. Water pollution makes our rivers and lakes very dirty. Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. Both air pollution and water pollution are not only dangerous to our health, but also dangerous to animals and plants. We're destroying our only world. A large number of trees have been cut down, so a lot of lands have been turned into deserts. Pollution can be seen everywhere! Unquestionably it is essential that we clean up our environment. Sadly, we've not always appreciated the importance of protecting the environment. On the streets, you can see cars producing smog. In the bathrooms, you can see students leaving the water tap on after using them. Not only the young people, but also the elderly ones throw things everywhere without thinking its wrong, even in a beautiful park. These things are taking place every day, even in modern cities like Beijing. We can't do that any more. We must learn how to protect the environment. If everyone is aware of protecting it instead of destroying it, the world can become cleaner, more beautiful, and more peaceful. The theme of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is “New Peking, New Olympic”。 It's the target owned by every Chinese. We should try our best to improve Beijing's environment for Olympics.
Let's begin to act! First, start with the things around you. Don't throw rubbish onto the road. Don't talk loudly when you are outdoors. Turn off the water tap after using it. Go to school by bike or by bus instead of by private car. Save your pocket money and contribute to environmental protection organizations. Take me as an example; I take action in order to make our only world full of happiness. I pick up rubbish and throw it into a trashcan. I collect waste paper or bottles for recycling. 8、《New Beijing，the Three-Colored New Olympics》
Good afternoon ，ladies and gentlemen.
Bidding for the Olympic Games is, in a way, an image-creating undertaking. The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unique image. What image does Beijing intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympics? It is known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games: New Beijing, Great Olympics. For me, the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors: yellow and red.
First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China’s mother river and the cradle of Chinese civilization. We are of the yellow race and descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.
Secondly, the 2008 Olympics will be a red pageant.
Red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing. Beijing, together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization.
Above all, the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics.
Adding the green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can’t deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, “United, we stand,” and a green Beijing will be achieved.
When our aspiration becomes reality, it will be a unique Olympics. New Beijing, Great Olympics will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.

New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?”
For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 2008 Olympic Games is a tremendous gift. Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying the love given to us .The society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captain is waving his hand and saying ”Hey! As the 29th Olympic Game which is held in Beijing is coming up soon, every citizen in our city is a messenger of green Olympic, we love our city and care more and more about our environment. In those lovely smiling face, I’m touched deeply for all the efforts we make. I can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. This is my hometown, this is beautiful Beijing, and there place the Green Olympic hopes on.Thinking about a few years ago, when I saw the taxonomic dustbin in our community for the first time, the Green Olympic made no difference in my mind. I just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. But when a few days later I raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of “the Communist Youth League’s EPD group”, I told myself firmly, “It’s a great way to make contribution to the 2008’s Beijing.” Maybe this is why I have that much passion on this great action. In the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. We were all very excited about this meaningful thing. We also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. When seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. Everyone forgot all the hardness. To let the dream of“ Green Beijing” come true, all of us should give a hand. “I’ve do something great for you Beijing,” What a great sentence!
And at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. My father changed all the taps in my family into saving-water ones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. I always can hear this ad on CRI, it says, “5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water.” So, help us to make the world safer. Although my actions are rather small, but I think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power.
The color green gives the Olympic Game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; Green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. But to my opinion, green’s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.
Once in an activity which was to plant trees for the community, every planter got a card to hang out on the tree with writing a few meaningful words. Do you know I have written what? That is:

回想几年以前，我第一次在社区的路旁看到分类垃圾箱的时候，绿色奥运在我的大脑中还没有任何概念，只是觉得这样把垃圾分类是很新鲜的事。但是当我在不久后的班会上把手高高的举起来希望自己也可以加入“共青团EPD社团”的。时候，心里已经坚信，“用自己的力量为的北京做出贡献，这真是太伟大”了。也许这就是我和绿色奥运行动最开始的结缘吧。在随后的几个月中，校团委带领包括我们支部在内的20余名同学一起到学校周边的路旁捡拾白色垃圾，这对于我们来说是一次意义重大的活动。我们还在学校门口设立了回收旧电池的垃圾筒，来尽可能减少环境的污染并同时节约资源。当看到一袋袋白色垃圾和旧电池被搬到送往回收站的卡车上时，我们忘记了之前的一切辛苦，因为汗水换来了快乐，和，付出的喜悦。绿色北京的实现需要我们每一个人去努力，“绿色奥运，有我一个”，多么骄傲的一句话啊。
同时，环境保护的行动在我家也在进行着。爸爸把家里所有的水龙头都换成了节水型的水龙头，而且所有的生活用水都至少被循环了两到三次。我经常会在中国国际广播电台听到这样的一则公益广告：“每年因缺水而死亡的儿童有500万之多”，身为同样生活在地球上的人类，我想我的行动虽然是微不足道的，但是如果大家都投身于节约用水和绿色环保的行动中来，那么我们的力量将是不可估量的。
绿色为奥运会的举办赋予了更深广的含义，绿色是花，是草，是树；绿色是天，是地，是阳光；可是在我心里，绿色更是心，是笑，是爱。
在社区举办的每一次植树活动中，每个植树者都会自己制作一个小牌子并写上自己对未来的希望，在和爸爸妈妈一个上午的努力过后，我在牌子上写到：

大家好！
今天我要演讲的题目是：我的奥运。
我是一名残疾人，奥运对于我来说只是用眼睛“看”的运动。自从8岁患上了关节炎后我再也不能参与任何体育活动了。如今正常的行走对我而言都已� 别人所热爱的事物里我也有我热爱与欣赏的角度，即便是“看”体育我也要用我的满腔热情去看、去感受体育带给人们的激情与生命的精彩。家里自从有了电视，我突然感到毫无生趣的生活在瞬间有了色彩；我最喜欢看的体育项目有滑冰、游泳、乒乓球等，曾经让我激动不已和萌生信念的女排给我的记忆最为深刻。至今，我还可以说出她们的名字，女排姑娘们的拼搏精神使我深深懂得了什么才是真正的体育精神。
最早知道奥林匹克运动是在电视里看到的，在1984年。那时从电视上看到在美国洛杉矶举行的第23届奥运会上，许海峰以566环的成绩获得该届奥运会首项冠军男子自选手枪冠军，成为我国第一个在奥运会上荣获冠军的运动员。许海峰这个名字让我认识了奥运。后来还了解到为我们中国赢得体育运动金牌的人中，还有一位残疾人冠军。她就是患先天性白内障的平亚丽。1984年，美国纽约举办的第三届国际残疾人奥运会，平亚丽在女子B2组跳远项目上，以4.28米的成绩为中国夺得了历史上第一枚残奥会金牌。这块金牌比许海峰获得的金牌早一个月。那时我并不了解奥运，只知道参与奥运是一件对祖国对个人非常重要光荣的事情。通过这两个奥运冠军，奥运便在我心里留下一个美丽的梦！
终于2008年奥林匹克盛会选择了我们中国北京，这是对深爱着祖国、为祖国拼搏着、奉献着、坚持着的中华儿女最高的奖赏。我这代人能赶上在北京举办奥运会真是感到无比的幸运与荣耀。百年奥运梦想就要在我们的这个时代实现了。奥运的五环旗帜将在中国首都--北京的奥运赛场高高飘扬……那应该是我们的北京最美丽、最自豪的日子。
今天距离2008年北京奥运会还有306天，每天我上网打开奥运倒计时钟，我的心也在跟随倒计时钟一样，越来越接近那激动人心的一天了。奥运会对于我们每一个中国人来说是一件大事。我相信每一个北京人都会去关心它，关注它。北京成功申办下了2008年的奥运会，每一个中国人都在为此而激动不已，每一个北京人更为此激动不已。我也不例外！我更为自己的首都--北京感到骄傲！我自豪，因为我就生活在中国的首都--北京。奥运在我的心中不再遥远……

现在大家都在参与奥运，为奥运尽一点力。60岁的大妈为奥运学上了英语，几岁的孩子也会说要为奥运好好学习。我也会积极地去参与奥运，虽然我的身体情况很特殊，但这并不能影响我参与奥运的心情。所以，我高兴地接受了这次写演讲稿的任务，虽然我的文笔并不好，但为奥运做一点事是我渴望做的事情，因为这也是我的奥运。参与奥运可以用多种多样的方式。我可以用心，用我的文字去参与到奥运中来，我要用我的笔为我的祖国，为我的北京，为我的奥运献上缤纷的诗的鲜花。我要用自己的心和自己的方式来支持奥运！

大家好！今天我演讲的题目是“绿色奥运我参与”。
绿色奥运是北京2008年奥运会的三大理念之一。为此北京市政府无论是在环境的治理、绿化的建设、生态的保护、循环经济和水资源的保护与利用，都做了大量的工作。但实现“绿色奥运”仅仅靠政府行为是远远不够的，作为北京的中学生更应该积极的投身到“绿色奥运”的建设与宣传当中去。从我做起，从我的家庭做起，从我身边的朋友、同学做起。
2001年，当前国际奥委会主席萨马兰奇在莫斯科高声宣读：“Beijing， China”的时候，作为一个北京人，一个中国人，我发自心底的为我们的祖国，我们的首都感到高兴。但在高兴之余，那灰蒙蒙的天空，那漫天的沙尘暴，那污绿的护城河，那见不到一丝绿色的街道，又使我深为北京能否在2008年成功办好奥运而感到担心。
四年之后的今天，一年之中有了229天湛蓝的天空，那滚滚的黄尘也早已不见，那一群群久违的野鸭也在春天飞回了北京的什刹海，街道也被绿色装点的生机勃勃。这一切不知不觉的变化都在回答着我，北京一定能办好2008年的奥运！而所有这些变化不仅仅是北京市政府的努力，更是在政府领导下的无数北京市民们努力的结果。作为这一千多万普通北京市民的一员，我也在为我们的绿色奥运贡献出自己的一份力量。
以前我曾有个习惯，每天早晚冲澡两次，而且冲洗时间特别长，很浪费水。一天，我在北京日报上看到了一则关于北京水资源短缺的文章，说北京市每年用水量大概是37亿立方米，而密云水库的蓄水量仅有7.7亿立方米，官厅水库的蓄水量仅有1.9亿立方米，水资源的供需矛盾十分尖锐。看到这则报道后，我开始改变我的习惯，每天只洗一次澡，尽量在很短的时间内洗完。我算了一笔帐，每人每月洗澡节约一吨水，北京市1400万人口将节约1400万吨水。据北京市水利局2003年统计数字表明，从2001年申办奥运成功后，开始实施市政府制定的26项节水措施，3年来节水达到4.37亿立方米，相当于4个怀柔水库。现在，在我的生活中，在我的家庭里，环保、节约的思想和行为时常都有体现。电池、报纸、玻璃瓶、油壶等可回收物，我们是分别处理、存放；购物、买菜的口袋使用尼龙口袋，基本不使用塑料袋；洗衣的水重复使用于冲洗马桶……而实现绿色奥运也正是应该从身边的这些小事做起。 我们清楚的记得在2004年的雅典奥运会上，当刘翔登上领奖台时，他头上戴了一个由橄榄枝编成的头环。这绿色的橄榄枝不正是代表着“绿色奥运”吗？橄榄枝象征着和平，而奥运正是传递“和平”的载体，我们不能简单的理解“没有战争就是和平”。“人与自然和谐相处”也是“和平”最本质的含义。“节约资源、保护环境”这种追求“人与自然和谐相处”的具体行为正是奥林匹克精神的具体体现。所以我们说：和平是奥运的灵魂，奥运是和平的载体，绿色奥运是我们从更高的境界在追求和平。当伟大的精神被“平凡”广泛的具体化以后，这种精神就被弘扬和光大了。
看来“绿色奥运”应该从点滴做起，从我做起，从我周边的人做起。弘扬奥林匹克精神，宣传绿色奥运理念，让2008北京奥运真正做到“绿色奥运”。这正是每一个爱好和平、追求和平人们的义不容辞的责任。也是我们北京中学生的一种思想境界和追求。

奥运的英语演讲稿
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:Bidding for the Olympic Games, in a way, an image-creating undertaking. The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unipue image. What image does Beijing
intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the Olympics?
It is known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games: New Beijing, Great Olympics. For me, the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.
First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China's Mother River and the descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.
Secondly, the 2008 Olympics will be a red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing . Beijing , together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. Should the 2008 Olympics be held in Beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red : the red torch,red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.
Above all, the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics. Adding a green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can't deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city. According to a project entitled“ The Green Olympic Action Plan”, between 1998 and 2007, Beijing, we have invested 100 billion RMB in preserving and protecting the environment. Some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the Fourth Ring Road. By then, the city's green area will make up 40% of its total. The city will also dredge its reservoirs used as a water supply to Beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each
citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, United, we stand, and a green Beijing will be achieved.
When our aspiration becomes a reality, it will be a unique Olympics.“ New Beijing, Great Olympics”; will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.

For example, medical experts have suggested that eating wild animals helped spread the terrible disease SARS. Now, our world is no longer clean and beautiful. Why? Because air, water, and noise pollution has become more and more serious. Noise pollution makes us talk more loudly and become angry more easily. Water pollution makes our rivers and lakes very dirty. Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. Both air pollution and water pollution are not only dangerous to our health, but also dangerous to animals and plants. We're destroying our only world. A large number of trees have been cut down, so a lot of lands have been turned into deserts. Pollution can be seen everywhere! Unquestionably it is essential that we clean up our environment. Sadly, we've not always appreciated the importance of protecting the environment. On the streets, you can see cars producing smog. In the bathrooms, you can see students leaving the water tap on after using them. Not only the young people, but also the elderly ones throw things everywhere without thinking its wrong, even in a beautiful park. These things are taking place every day, even in modern cities like Beijing. We can't do that any more. We must learn how to protect the environment. If everyone is aware of protecting it instead of destroying it, the world can become cleaner, more beautiful, and more peaceful. The theme of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is “New Peking, New Olympic”。 It's the target owned by every Chinese. We should try our best to improve Beijing's environment for Olympics.

Adding a green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can't deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. According to a project entitled“ The Green Olympic Action Plan”, between and , Beijing, we have invested 100 billion RMB in preserving and protecting the environment. Some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the Fourth Ring Road. By then, the city's green area will make up 40% of its total. The city will also dredge its reservoirs used as a water supply to Beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each
citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, United, we stand, and a green Beijing will be achieved.
When our aspiration becomes a reality, it will be a unique Olympics.“ New Beijing, Great Olympics”; will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.

Carrying the message “Share the peace, Share the Olympics. “ The flame will pass through Tibet, cross the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, Travel the Great Wall and visit Taiwan and the56Ethnic communities who make up our society. On its journey, the flame will be seen by and inspire more human beings than any previous relay.
I am afraid I cannot prevent the whole picture of our cultural programs within such a short period of time. Actually, what we have shown you here today is only a fraction of Beijing that awaits you. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that Beijing will prove to be a land of wonders to athletes, spectators and the worldwide television audience alike. Come and join us.
