Good morning everyone，may I have your attention，please? I am glad to beable to give a lecture on this classroom. This once , I want to talk aboutEnglish. My topic of conversation is that I love English.
As everyone knows,English is very important today.It has been usedeverywhere in the world.It has become the most common language on Internet andfor international trade. If we can speak English.well,we will have more chanceto succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number ofthe people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and itsusefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel adifferent way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When Iread English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is differentfrom reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident frommy words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as ourChines.
I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around theworld one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people fromdifferent contries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can goto London,because it is the birth place of English.
I also want to use my good English to introduce our great places to theEnglish spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hardstudy, one day I can speak English very well.
If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So Ibelieve as I love English everyday , it will love me too.

every one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. my friends will listen to me when i want to speak, will wipe my eyes when i cry, will take care of me when i am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.
as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.
friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. it is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. it is also like a cup of tea. when we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.
however, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. more and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. they work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. of course, we don't deny that it is important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. all of us have to spare some time for personal lives. we have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. when staying with our friends, we can release ourselves completely. we can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. i should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.
as we know, we would feel lonely if we didn't even have a friend. but it doesn't mean we could depend on our friends all the time. there is a famous motto saying that “a friend is like a quilt with cotton wadding, but the real thing that keeps you warm is your own temperature.” it is really true. we have to work hard together with our friends, encourage each other and help each other. when we receive love and friendship, we should repay as much as we can.
finally, let's pray together now that one day, all of us could find the person we want to find, and could enjoy a real beautiful friendship in our lives. let's pray the flower of friendship be-tween our friends and us would always bloom brightly in our hearts.

when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.
i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept.
My favourite super star is JJ , he has a lovely dimple and his eyes arealso very lovely . Now let me tell you the story about JJ .
He enterde the music indestry at the year 20__ , before that year ,he wasonly a boy who wrote songs for many super stars ,his songs were liked by manypeople but no one care who was the writer . He was noly hard to write songsbecause he like music ,he thought music has it soal , if you sing it by heart ,it well be lived.
I like a song of him , it's name is CRIES IN A DISTANCE , the song tells us,nothing is sad if we belive the hope . He has many difficulty , but his songsays , cries in a distance , can't stop the tremble , I'm just waiting my turn ,hiding will never , save me forever , the guns gonne get me for sure . Dear godI pray why won't you be my friend , come to me and take my hand ,like mama wouldsay everything will be ok.
Now he is not rather a shy singer and performer , the lyrical songs makehim mature ,and now he is a man or not a boy.

so now i'd like to share with you what's in my suitcase today. guess what? books. i have a suitcase full of books. here's margaret atwood, “cat's eye.“ here's a novel by milan kundera. and here's “the guide for the perplexed“ by maimonides. but these are not exactly my books. i brought these books with me because they were written by my grandfather's favorite authors.
my grandfather was a rabbi and he was a widower who lived alone in a small apartment in brooklyn that was my favorite place in the world when i was growing up, partly because it was filled with his very gentle, very courtly presence and partly because it was filled with books. i mean literally every table, every chair in this apartment had yielded its original function to now serve as a surface for swaying stacks of books. just like the rest of my family, my grandfather's favorite thing to do in the whole world was to read.
but he also loved his congregation, and you could feel this love in the sermons that he gave every week for the 62 years that he was a rabbi. he would takes the fruits of each week's reading and he would weave these intricate tapestries of ancient and humanist thought. and people would come from all over to hear him speak.
but here's the thing about my grandfather. underneath this ceremonial role, he was really modest and really introverted -- so much so that when he delivered these sermons, he had trouble making eye contact with the very same congregation that he had been speaking to for 62 years. and even away from the podium, when you called him to say hello, he would often end the conversation prematurely for fear that he was taking up too much of your time. but when he died at the age of 94, the police had to close down the streets of his neighborhood to accommodate the crowd of people who came out to mourn him. and so these days i try to learn from my grandfather's example in my own way.
every one has his own dream.when i was a little kid ,my dream was even tohave a candy shop of my own .but now ,when i am 16 years old ,standing here ,mydreams have already changed a lot.
i have got quite different experience from other girls.while they wereplaying toys at home,while they were dreaming to be the princesses in the story.i was running in the hard rain,jumping in the heavy snow,pitching in the strongwind.nothing could stop me ,because of a wonderful call from my heart -- to bean athlete.yeah ,of course ,i'm an athlete,i'm so proud of that all the time.
when i was 10 years old ,i became a shot-put athlete.the training wasreally hard ,i couldn't bear the heavy shot in my hands .but i always believethat "god only help those who help themselves".during those hard days,i find iwas growing more quickly than others of the same age.to be an athlete is my mostcorrect choice.but,i quit my team after entering high school because of a sillyexcuse.i really didn't want to stop my sports career anyway.
today i say to you my friends that even though i must face the difficultiesof yesterday ,today and tomorrow .i still have a dream .it is a dream deeplyrooted in my soul.
i have a dream that one day ,i can run,jump and pitch just like i used tobe.
i have a dream that one day , i can go back to my dream sports and join thenational team.
i have a dream that one day ,i can stand on the highest place at theolympic games.with all the cameras pointing at me.i will tell everyone that i'mso proud to be a chinese athlete!

when i was ten, i was suddenly confronted with the anguish of transferring to other school. i had to left my friends i had ever known. as a kid,i feel lonely when i study in a new environment without a person i had known. nobody i could talk,nobody could know when i feel lonely. the time when i couldn't sleep, i'll always miss them, then the tears filled my eyes.
later, i became familar with the environment ,and made some friends ,which became my best friends then. they talked with me when i felt lonely, they helped me when i needed, they took care of me when i was sick. even through we were part, we still keep in touch with each other.
in our whole lives,we'll meet too much people but only a few can be our best friends. when staying with them,we can release ourself completely. we can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry together. i should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.

i have three dreams. my first dream is that i wish i could go to collegesome day, which is also the one of many other students' dreams. going to collegefor further education can not only enrich our knowledge, but also teach us howto behave better. i always imagine that the college life must be veryinteresting. this dream gives me energy to study harder and harder. now i'mtrying my best to make it come true. sure, i have enough confidence to realizemy dream.
my second dream is becoming an excellent doctor. i always dream that icould turn a doctor like bai qiuen, so that i could cure a lot of patients, helpthem get rid of sick devil, let them lead a healthy and happy life, and finallyi will feel happy, too.
